About Me
Who am I? I’m a designer, first and foremost. My goal is to create as much as I can by prototyping. I work best with my hands, and I’ve always been better at creating then drawing.
I have been folding Origami for over 20 years – being raised in both Japan and Hawai’i has shaped and formed who I am today. Origami has been a kind of relaxation for me my entire life, and only recently did I discover that I enjoyed wearing my work rather than simply displaying it! Although folding paper is how I originally started LeeMo, my personal exploration of digital fabrication has expanded the way that I approach modular origami. View these here: www.leelamorimoto.com
Folding will always be a passion for me, but I never want to forget how it all started: a little girl and a package of paper.

Hi, I’d very much like to use some images of your laser cut earings for a flyer I’m doing for a digital fabrication contest I’m running.

Of course, I’ll put the credit you want.
Thanks,
Arthur
No problem, Arthur – please let me know if there is anything that you need from me.
Cheers,
Leela
I checked out your website and your earrings are stunning! How much do you sell them for and how durable are they? I know my sister would love a pair for Christmas – they are just her style. You are a wonderful artist!
Hi! Thanks so much – the earrings start at $25 and range depending on the style of earring. They’re amazingly sturdy due to the geometric shapes – I’ve never actually had any of the origami shapes break on any that I’ve made. Shoot me an email at leela@leelamorimoto.com if you’d like to order a custom pair for your sister
25$ plus shipping and handling might be a little pricey for me at the moment but I have no doubt the unique artistry will be worth it when the time comes. I will definitely keep your website saved and likely get in touch with you as Christmas time approaches!
